• "Lovely quiet place" - Sep 2016

I and my family had a good time at the barn, very quiet and relaxing location. Lots of space for children to run around played lots of ball games on the big lawn, also there is a river just outside of the barn where we tried fishing but were unlucky. The hot tub is a great addition to all of this. We self-catered and found the kitchen very good with lots of equipment. My wife enjoyed cooking on the induction hob as she normally uses a gas one. We enjoyed our stay and looking forward to coming back to this lovely place.

  • "Beautiful Barn Conversion In Idyllic Surroundings" - Sep 2016

I had been looking for a barn or cottage to stay in with 7 of my friends to celebrate my 40th Birthday. Having spent my last birthday in a beautiful cottage in Machynlleth with stunning valley views I really wanted to return to Wales again. I didn't think we could outdo last year but as soon as we arrived we all excitedly ran around the spacious barn and straight away knew it was better! Firstly the directions the owner Bernard gave us were concise and very discriptive. Excellent for when sat nav fails and you are driving along unknown country lanes. Secondly the impressive veranda with decking and hot tub was amazing. All topped up and ready to go. We spent all our evenings outside here as its such a good social space. Further round we had a picnic table area, a fire pit, BBQ, a wooded area and the river. Our only neighbours were the grazing sheep and horses. Inside the lounge is massive and has speakers in the ceiling allowing you to connect your music to the sound system and play that should you require. The kitchen we were impressed with as it had everything you could possibly need including a microwave, dishwasher and a large dining table that could be extended for extra guests. At Abernant they spoilt us with one large fridge freezer and a couple of days into our stay we discovered another fridge in the boot room / utility!! Upstairs three large bedrooms two with double beds and one with four bunk beds. Plenty of room for everyone. Upstairs you will also find the main bathroom with bath and shower. Lovely wooden beams from the original barn can be found in the bedrooms but theres still lots of headroom! (Good for a tall person like myself!!) Llanwyrtd is about 20 mins walk away from the barn but about 5 mins in a car. We had a drink at the local hotel and bought provisions from the small Spar shop they have in town. All in all everyone enjoyed themselves and said they would like to return one day. I had the best birthday ever and chosing the perfect venue for it certainly enhanced that! If you want peace and quiet but also somewhere contemporary where you can have a small gathering this barn is definitely the place to stay! Finally I would just like to thank Bernard who was extremely helpful and kind throughout our stay. Any questions I had he responded promptly. I can't wait to visit again for my 50th!!

  • "Perfect for friends- and family get-away!" - Apr 2017

We (2 families with kids ages 6-11) had a lovely pre-Easter get-away at Abernant Barn. The property is a fantastic base for outdoor pursuits and the location a paradise for kids and nature lovers, with own river, fire pit and big fields to play on. The barn lies fairly secluded down a long drive with plenty of space for kids to roam freely. The newly refurbished barn is very comfortable, modern and equipped to a very high standard, well thought through for outdoor-indoor living. We thoroughly enjoyed the huge covered terrasse with jacuzzi, large open-space living room and slate floors with under floor heating. The kids enjoyed watching DVDs on the TV in the evening, whereas the adults enjoyed the music system. After being outdoors come rain or shine having a washing machine was also very handy. The kitchen has both fridge freezer and induction hob, microwave and big oven, lots of lovely food to be made for the adventurous cook including on the outdoors BBQ !! We got a Tesco delivery to the property, but there is also a very friendly little Spar in the village 10 min away by car. We saw lots of wildlife - including mink, pheasants, nesting nuthatches and even the red kites. Surrounding fields abound with horses and ponies, cattle and plenty of little Easter lambs to please the kids. Bernard was always very helpful and quick to respond to any question and queries both before and during our stay. We would love to come again!

  • "Perfect place to relax" - Sep 2016

Had an excellent weekend staying here, splendid hills, lovely rivers, and crystal clear night sky. The barn itself provides a perfect level of comfort and functionality to enjoy the lovely countryside surrounding it. Transport links are brilliant for a place that is so nicely remote. Would happily stay again, and advise anyone to take up the chance!
